I am ready for this baby to come out now, please.*

I had an ultrasound yesterday to check on the size of the baby. Similarly to Victoria, my measurements haven’t kept up with where they should be, and so I was scheduled to have a check and see how things were progressing. Well, I didn’t get the news I expected. With Victoria, at 3 weeks before she was born, her weight was estimated at 5.5lbs, and she ended up packing on some weight in the last 3 weeks to end up 7lbs, 3oz.

This baby, with a little over 2 weeks to go, was estimated at 8.5lbs. So if it gains a half-pound or so each week left, that means I could be having a quite large baby! I guess it has managed to contort itself in a C shape down my right side, which probably explains why my measurements haven’t changed out front.

My skin elasticity is starting to give up the ghost, same time as with Victoria. I have new stretch marks appearing, but they are interleaved with the ones from Victoria, and are again only on one side, so it isn’t that big of a problem yet. Battle scars and all that.

I have 3 full and 2 half days left of work until I go on leave. I spent most of today in the lab trying to crank out analysis of a skeletal sample. It must be done before I go on leave but I think I kind of underestimated my stamina for perching on a stool for hours on end.

*I guess, while I am ready for this baby to be born, please be after the 22nd. Not only so I can get the analysis done, but we have a big brisket smoking party/10th anniversary celebration this weekend I would like to go off without a hitch. Thanks.
