Fridayitis

I seem to be taking a late lunch so I thought I’d dash something off here.

I am on holiday next week, which I am really looking forwards to. Today I am trying to finish an article along with sketching out my next month of work, but really I just want to go home and relax and maybe weed the garden, although who am I kidding – liberal applications of prose and tea also figure in there.

I don’t like this site design, so I am sure I will be doing a little tinkering as well, along with maybe some painting, and a little worldbuilding. After at least a year-long creative hiatus, I seem to have all sorts of competing ideas yammering away from my subconscious and manifesting themselves in daydreams and night-epics that slip away when I am fully awake.

I also seem to have injured my right elbow. Not tennis elbow or bursitis, but right at the tendon where the triceps brachii connects to the olecranon. Ow.

Oh, and because I know you are all on the edge of your seats, the skunk smell is pretty much eradicated from my office and keys (although they will never look the same as they did – who knew non-porous metal grabbed skunk smell so strongly?) the small freezer where the cleaned bones and the biowaste from dissection go will never be the same. Instead of just freezing, it now also imparts a nice eau de butyl mercaptan on anything you put inside. Such as the three skeletons that have been chilling out waiting for me to snag and soak. I didn’t even talk to anyone there, just snuck in, grabbed bones and hauled ass out of there.

I am trying to see how this auto-skunking is a feature, but failing. So everything waiting to be processed is in the fume hood in the processing lab and I will deal with it when I am back from vacation.
