Glass houses…

April 13th 2005

I am absolutely swamped in marking right now, hence the brief silence. I have about 100 assignments to do by Monday, and then another 95-100 after that to have done by the 25th.

One of my students said something unintentionally amusing in one of their assignments. They were to compare some sample passages from baristas writing at their LiveJournal community and analyse the dialogues.

One question I asked was to look at scripting, and analyse the script from the perspective of the barista and the customer.

One student wrote: “The goal that is perceived by the customer is to get what they want by ordering in a clear manor.”

Hee.
