Snakes.

Well, one.

Just a baby.

I just had a student over to sign up for a lab, and I made a comment that I am living with all sorts of animals around me (referring to the faunal collection) and she said “Oh! And Snakes!”. Lo and behold, there was a wee little baby snake slithering along on the concrete floor by my foot.

He was so cute. The diameter of a pencil, and maybe 6 inches long. Predominantly cream, with rusty red blotches.

I am pretty sure it was a Gopher Snake. I let him go in the field behind the building.

I can’t wait to see what we will find next. So far, a mouse, 5 million flies, and now a baby snake!
